Woodmere at Jacaranda is a Quaker sponsored retirement community situated on 33+ acres in Venice, FL. When all phases are developed, the campus will include three, nine story buildings, connected by three, seven story wings. In the center of the campus there will be a three story, approx. 80,000 clubhouse complete with a 60' - 70' heated, swimming pool and a 2 acre pond. Fifty-five, free standing villa homes line the perimeter of the campus. Our marketing efforts began in the latter part of October 1996. At that time, our Sales/Information Center was located in a former bank branch building off-site. We had no models units, no architectural model or anything tangible for clients to see aside from floor plans and renderings. More than once, we heard the comment of "a pig in a poke" to describe the project. Fortunately we had enough good clients who believed in the project so that the marketing effort continued with good progress. Most of these early clients could visualize in three dimensions what is represented on paper in one dimension. I might add, as purely an observation, there seem to be very few people capable of this type of visualization. It is the people who can't make this transitional visualization, from paper to 3-D, that are the hardest to bring to the "point of sale"

In December of 1997, we received a to-scale, architectural, site model fro Phil Whitelaw. This model helped tremendously in allowing clients and future clients to see the magnitude and beauty of the project. Even at a reduced scale, visualization could be realized much more easily. This has been an invaluable tool when describing the project to prospective clients. Architectural Model Maker produced an outstanding finished product. The Mediterranean style of the campus buildings was detailed very realistically.

I would highly recommend this type of marketing tool to businesses in the development stages. More importantly, I would highly recommend Architectural Model Maker to create such a tool. We at Woodmere have nothing but positive comments to share about the finished project as well as the business relationship we experienced with Phil Whitelaw and his associate.
